F.A.Q.

Choosing the right outfit for your portrait session can make a big difference in the final images. Here are some tips to help you look your best:

1. Coordinate, Don’t Match – If multiple people are in the shoot, opt for complementary colors rather than identical outfits. Neutral tones, earthy shades, and soft pastels work well together.

2. Keep It Timeless – Avoid trendy patterns or logos that might date your photos. Solid colors and classic styles ensure your portraits remain timeless.

3. Consider the Location – Think about where the shoot will take place. Soft, natural tones work well for outdoor settings, while bold colors can stand out in urban environments.

4. Layer Up – Adding layers like a jacket, cardigan, or scarf can give you more variety in your photos without needing a full outfit change.

5. Avoid Distracting Patterns – Loud prints, neon colors, and large logos can draw attention away from your face. Subtle textures or small patterns can add interest without being overwhelming.

6. Dress Comfortably – Choose outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. If you feel good, it will show in your photos!

7. Consider the Season – Light fabrics and pastels work well in summer, while deeper tones and cozy textures are great for autumn and winter sessions.

8. Think About Footwear – Your shoes will be visible in full-body shots, so wear something stylish yet comfortable that matches your outfit.

9. Accessories Matter – Simple jewelry, hats, or props can add personality to your session without overpowering the image.

10. Plan Ahead – Try on your outfit a few days before the session to ensure everything fits well and is wrinkle-free.

If you’re unsure, feel free to bring a couple of options, and I can help you decide on the day of the shoot!

Preparing your home for a real estate photography session is essential to ensure it looks its best and attracts potential buyers or renters. Follow these steps to create a clean, inviting space that photographs beautifully:

General Preparation

1. Declutter & Depersonalize – Remove personal items such as family photos, paperwork, and excessive décor to create a neutral, welcoming space.
2. Clean Thoroughly – Dust, vacuum, and mop all floors. Clean windows, mirrors, and any reflective surfaces for a polished look.
3. Let in Natural Light – Open curtains and blinds to allow as much natural light as possible. Turn on all indoor lights for a bright, inviting atmosphere.
4. Hide Cords & Small Items – Tuck away cables, chargers, and everyday items like remote controls, tissues, and pet accessories.
5. Check Light Bulbs – Ensure all bulbs are working and use matching color temperatures (warm or cool) to maintain consistency in photos.

Living Room & Common Areas

6. Arrange furniture neatly and remove excess items.
7. Fluff pillows and fold throw blankets.
8. Clear coffee tables and side tables, leaving a few tasteful decorations (e.g., a book, plant, or candle).

Kitchen

9. Clear countertops of small appliances, dish racks, and cleaning supplies.
10. Wipe down all surfaces, including countertops, cabinets, and stainless steel appliances.
11. Hide trash cans and pet bowls.
12. Place a bowl of fresh fruit or a small plant for a touch of warmth.
